ABSTRACT

Classical Chinese gardens are an integral part of the world's garden system, with rockwork hills being a fundamental element in their construction. In recent years, digital technology has been widely applied. This study employs four different methods for two-dimensional and three-dimensional information recording of rockwork hills, and compares their advantages and disadvantages. It summarizes and outlines the digital documentation methods, demonstrating that digital documentation of rockwork hills in gardens is a relatively cutting-edge research direction, necessitating the comprehensive application of BIM and GIS technologies.
