ABSTRACT

The Paris Agreement was adopted at the COP 21 conference held in Paris, France, on December 12, 2015, and officially came into force on November 4, 2016. China is a contracting party to the Paris Agreement. As one of the world's largest emitters of greenhouse gases, China's active participation in the Paris Agreement is of great significance to global climate governance. This article focuses on the international transfer mechanism under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and explores the challenges and corresponding countermeasures faced by China in participating in the voluntary cooperation mechanism. It also discusses the sustainable development mechanism mentioned in the fourth paragraph of the Paris Agreement's support provisions, as part of the international cooperation mechanism.
