Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) refers to physical discomfort and psychological symptoms that occur before menstruation (luteal phase of the menstrual cycle). This article will summarize the relevant research on premenstrual syndrome, make statements from two aspects of drug therapy and psychological therapy, and discuss the future research and from the perspective of Traditional Chinese medicine. Currently, there are few studies on premenstrual syndrome, and its treatment theory is still in the exploratory stage, and there is still a gap in international research. For this disorder in the future, not only the participation of modern medicine, but also the multi-dimensional diagnosis and treatment combined with traditional Chinese medicine theory should be carried out.
