ABSTRACT

There are remarkable achievements in Chinese growth in the past few decades, especially for the economic area. Right now, Chinese development is treated as a driver of the global economy and get a major concern from investors around the worldwide. However, there are still some significant weaknesses in the model of Chinese economic rapid growth. Depending traditional energy consumption structure on too much, Chinese environment is continuously deteriorating. Furthermore, this structure brings negative influences for using resource effectively. In the end, this defective consumption structure also limits the abilities of innovation in Chinese industries. To address those issues, Chinese government support the development of local renewable energy industry. This essay will focus on introducing the developing process of Chinese renewable energy industry and contribution to national economic development. Then, this essay will base on the PESTEL analyze to the macro environment related to Chinese renewable energy industry. After that, this essay will use Porter's Five Forces Model to analyze the competitiveness of this industry. Lastly, this essay will focus on the case of solar photovoltaic firms within China to explore its development opportunities and threats for future expansion and improvements.
