ABSTRACT

This paper comprehensively analyzes the urban integration of the new generation of migrant workers from a novel perspective of Internet. In order to quantify the degree of urban integration we construct an urban integration index model for the new generation of migrant workers. Based on the model, this paper conducts multi-dimensional crossover analysis of different industries and cities. The results show that the Internet is an important factor affecting the new generation of migrant workers’ integration into cities no matter what industry and what type of city they are in. Then we prove empirically that the Internet has a significantly positive promoting effect on the new generation of migrant workers’ urban integration.
