ABSTRACT
CRISPR/Cas9 is the third generation of genome site-specific editing technology after Zinc-finger nuclease (ZFN) and transcription activator-like effector nuclease (TALEN). With the features of simple design and easy operation, CRISPR/Cas9 plays an important role in modern genome engineering. This mini review mainly introduces the principles and development of genome editing technology based on CRISPR/Cas9 system, discusses the related ethical issues of genome editing technology, and puts forward the prospect of its application in various fields..
