ABSTRACT

Household asset allocation decisions are subject to behavioural bias and have an impact on the real economy and financial markets. Therefore, it is necessary to research the factors affecting family asset allocation. This paper explores the factors affecting family asset allocation decisions including the personal and family trait, background risk, real estate, tax, and social insurance from both theoretical and empirical perspectives, and highlights the conclusions of relevant Chinese research. This article can provide some suggestions for Chinese economic policy and financial system reform. It also shows that the current research on household asset allocation in China is insufficient, and it is necessary to strengthen both theoretical and empirical research.
