ABSTRACT

In recent decades, the research on board governance has been increasingly in-depth in academia, and it has evolved from a research problem to a research field. We review research on board governance over the past decades. First of all, we briefly trace back to the origin of the problem of board governance. Secondly, the prior literature on the board governance is reviewed to reveal the current research status in this field. Finally, we list some ideas and suggestions for the future study of board governance.
