ABSTRACT

Since COVID-19 was first discovered in December 2019, it has immediately ravaged the world. With its extremely high infectivity and variability, it has become a pandemic that has caused great damage to human life. In the fight against COVID-19, artificial intelligence has helped on multiple angles. This review mainly discusses the impact of machine learning-based artificial intelligence technology on solving the COVID-19 pandemic from the four perspectives — diagnosis, contact tracing, prediction and discovery of drugs. This paper also discusses the limitations and future development of machine learning in practical applications, and has certain suggestions for medical staff and decision makers.
