ABSTRACT

Microplastics accumulate in large quantities throughout the ecosystems. Also, microplastics are harmful to the organisms. This paper mainly discusses the effects of microplastics on intestinal structure and mucus secretion. It has been found experimentally that exposure to microplastics and nanoplastics impairing mucus secretion and, in addition, altering the intestinal structure and affecting the formation of intestinal flora.
