ABSTRACT

With the promotion of "The Belt and Road" (B&R) initiative, countries along the route are facing diverse and complex challenges in terms of culture, resources, and territory, among which the conflict prevention and resolution mechanism has become an important issue in achieving peacebuilding. Based on the cooperation of countries along the route, this study discusses the key role of effective conflict prevention and resolution mechanisms in B&R peace construction. Firstly, through in-depth analysis of the cultural differences between countries along the route, we put forward the necessity of establishing a cross-cultural cooperation mechanism. This includes enhancing cultural awareness through targeted educational programs and exchange initiatives, which could play a vital role in bridging gaps and fostering harmony. Through training and cultural exchange programs, we will promote mutual understanding and respect among countries and reduce obstacles to cooperation that may be caused by cultural differences. Secondly, the study made clear the importance of making sustainable development plans and promoting multilateral cooperation and win-win mechanisms in resource competition. While promoting cooperation projects, paying attention to environmental protection and sustainable utilization of resources will help to avoid possible cooperation risks caused by resource competition. Furthermore, integrating local environmental concerns into these plans is crucial for ensuring long-term, ecologically sustainable outcomes. Then, through the study of territorial disputes, we put forward the necessity of establishing international coordination mechanisms and crisis management and mediation mechanisms. These mechanisms should also focus on preventive diplomacy to anticipate and address disputes before they escalate. Solve border issues through international law and international mediation to ensure that all countries maintain peaceful coexistence in common development. Finally, in order to promote the implementation of the B&R initiative in an all-round way, we have emphasized the key points of building inter-departmental cooperation mechanisms, formulating sustainable development standards, and other domestic mechanisms. Such mechanisms should also be flexible and adaptable, allowing for responsive adjustments in line with evolving international dynamics and local needs. Through international coordination, scientific project management and supervision, personnel training and exchange, the cooperative projects will be promoted in an orderly manner. Through this series of research, this paper provides profound theoretical and practical guidance for the peaceful construction of countries along the B&R.
