ABSTRACT

For a country, the carrier that can reflect its cultural level and accomplishment is literature, which is a manifestation of social ideology. A good work can bring profound inspiration to readers by using various ways to reflect the author's thoughts or the actual phenomena in society. Compared with today's society, British and American literary works depict the development history of human society more profoundly, which has profound practical significance. The core of humanism is embodied in the shaping of people's own spiritual world by this idea, and the power of spirit and the power of free pursuit of love and ideals. It is also the symbolic literature that distinguishes British and American literature from other literature that can be realized through different language expressions, and the way to embody the spiritual value of literature is closely related to cultural characteristics. By studying British and American literature, this paper explores the spiritual value of the western world, promotes the perfection and development of China's core cultural system, cultivates the cultural quality and character of the people, and enhances the sense of cultural identity. It enables us to have different cultural experiences and better promote exchanges between the East and the West.
