ABSTRACT

In the context of the global aging society, it is urgent to pay attention to the well-being and mental health of the elderly. This study is based on the data statistically derived from the questionnaire of a random sample of elderly people in nursing homes, forming a diverse visual data analysis. The study found that the mental health of the elderly is poor, and the overall sense of well-being is low. Meanwhile, factors such as the marital status, economic status, and physical health of the elderly may affect their cognitive evaluation of their own happiness. Accordingly, there is a need to tap into family and community strengths, increase family companion time, and enhance psychotherapy to improve older adults' mental health as well as their sense of well-being as much as possible.
