ABSTRACT

Against the backdrop of increasing societal demand for higher vocational education, there is an urgent need for profound reform in the educational models of higher vocational education to better align with the evolving needs of economic and social development. This paper focuses on the cultivation of talents possessing advanced vocational skills and comprehensive competence, making this the central goal of the reform. Through an in-depth analysis of the intrinsic relationship between practical education and the cultivation of vocational competence, this study explores a series of reform strategies for higher vocational education. These strategies include emphasizing the importance of practical education, advocating for interdisciplinary comprehensive training, and promoting innovative teaching methods. The aim is to comprehensively enhance students' vocational competence, meeting the urgent expectations of society for graduates of higher vocational education in various capacities. By nurturing talents with comprehensive competence, higher vocational education will better cater to society's demand for the integration of professional skills and comprehensive competence, providing robust support for cultivating more competitive talents.
