The effect of children's choral singing on children's musical literacy

ABSTRACT

As a special form of chorus, children's chorus plays an important role in children's music education. The purpose of this paper is to explore the influence of children's chorus on children's music literacy. Firstly, the concept and importance of children's music literacy are introduced, and the positive influence of children's music literacy on children's overall development is stressed. Then, the concept and characteristics of children's chorus are elaborated in detail. Next, the impact of children's chorus on children's music literacy is analysed, including the enhancement of children's music performance ability, the cultivation of children's music appreciation ability, the enhancement of children's sense of music cooperation and the cultivation of children's music understanding ability. In addition, the application of children's chorus in children's music education was explored, including school music education, community music education and family music education. The influences of children's chorus on children's music literacy were further analysed, such as the influence of instructors, the choice of repertoire and rehearsal methods. Finally, the implications of children's choral singing on children's music literacy are summarised and suggestions are made. By studying the influence of children's chorus on children's music literacy, it can provide certain theoretical and practical basis for children's music education.
