ABSTRACT

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence has triggered significant transformations in the educational sector in China, with foreign language programs entering a critical period of transition. Given the advanced capabilities of AI and the current challenges confronting foreign language education, particularly in higher vocational institutions, this paper focuses on the transformation pathways for China's higher vocational foreign language programs within the AI context. It analyses practical approaches to transformation from macro, mesoscopic, and micro levels, discusses potential issues that AI may introduce to higher vocational foreign language education, and proposes corresponding coping strategies. This paper concludes that AI-empowered program transformation is well suited to the current and near-future context of higher vocational foreign language education.
