The art appreciation course focuses on improving the aesthetic awareness of nonart students in ordinary universities, enhancing their humanistic literacy, and enhancing their humanistic and artistic aesthetics. At the same time, the art appreciation course has rich artistic works, the growth experience of art creators, and a comprehensive artistic spirit, which has also laid an important position in the ideological and political education and comprehensive literacy formation of college students. This article combines the practical teaching experience of the course, the positioning of the general art appreciation course, and the characteristics of ideological and political education. It briefly elaborates and analyzes the basic characteristics of the general art appreciation course, and explores how to play the role of ideological and political education in the teaching of the art appreciation course.
