ABSTRACT

After the middle and late 1920s, the cheongsam as a Manchu traditional women' clothing has undergone tremendous changes. While gradually improving itself and establishing its dominant position, cheongsam brings Chinese women' clothing into the international market, which has become a milestone in the history of Chinese clothing. The aesthetics brought by Western costumes and the change of tailoring are important motivations.
