ABSTRACT

Poverty is a big problem that cannot be ignored in the process of social and economic development in China. In recent years, the Chinese government has successively put forward policies such as precise poverty alleviation and gradual poverty alleviation. As one of the key provinces for poverty alleviation in China, Shanxi Province is imperative for poverty alleviation. To accurately alleviate poverty, we first need to understand the causes of poverty. Therefore, this paper takes Qingyuan County of Shanxi Province as an example to analyze the causes of poverty in the area (earthquake, typhoon, pests, soil erosion, physical condition, industrial resource use), using least squares estimation and multiple linear regression models. Explain the causes of poverty among residents and make targeted recommendations.
