ABSTRACT

Ancestral hall architecture is a unique architectural type in our country, which not only contains traditional folk culture, but also has distinct artistic features. What is the ancestral hall is the center that embodies the regional clan belief. At the same time, ancestral halls also have important functions such as worshipping ancestors, holding sacrificial ceremonies, and carrying out clan rules and family laws. In view of this, this paper studies the characteristics of ancestral hall architectural art in western Hunan, and on this basis puts forward the inheritance and protection strategies of ancestral hall architectural art.
