ABSTRACT

Chinese-English translation is a crucial part of cross-cultural communication. How to accurately convey the meaning of the original text and maintain the natural fluency of the language is a key problem to be solved in the process of translation. This paper discusses and summarizes the Chinese and English translation from two aspects of language expression techniques and optimization strategies. This paper discusses the application of language expression skills in Chinese and English translation, such as grammar structure, vocabulary selection, sentence conversion and so on. By comparing and analyzing the characteristics of both Chinese and English languages, the unique features of each language, and the targeted use of corresponding expression skills can better maintain the style and artistic conception of the original text. When translating idioms and expressions, it is important to consider regional culture and customs to ensure that the translation aligns with local language habits and expression methods. Effective Chinese-English translation optimization strategies should be implemented, such as avoiding literal translation, paying attention to context adaptation, and considering rhetorical effect, in order to achieve a translation that is more accurate and closer to the original meaning.
