This paper aims to explore the significance of text types in translation and how they can be further understood and handled through discourse analysis. We begin by introducing the theoretical foundations of discourse analysis and text types, and discuss the theoretical perspectives on how text types influence translation. We then delve into the role of text types in the translation process and how different text types impact translation strategies and quality. We further explore the importance of text types in translation practice and demonstrate how the principles of discourse analysis can be applied to understand and handle different types of texts through case studies. Finally, we summarize the findings and emphasize the need for further research and the potential impact of this theoretical approach on translation practice. The theoretical viewpoints and methodologies of this study also have important implications for translation education.
