The influence of inefficient teaching methods or cross-linguistic characteristics in the field of second language oral teaching has always been concerned and discussed. By carrying a survey with 50 Grade 5 bilingual Chinese students in Intel Bilingual Primary School, this paper aims to observe, identify and make a brief analysis on the key issue of effectively teaching English second language young learners in primary in their spoken English, from the perspectives of instructional theories and strategies use.
