Kunqu opera is a treasure in Chinese traditional culture and art, especially in opera art. The two forms of closet drama and on-stage drama have complemented each other and are in parallel since the advent. This study further confirms the feasibility and explanatory power of the dynamic multimodal discourse analysis framework for the stage performance of Kunqu opera and provides a new research perspective for it.
